🐾 How Rovedog works

What is Rovedog and what does it actually do?
Rovedog is an automatic ball launcher for dogs. You load it with balls and it throws them so your dog can chase, fetch and bring the ball back — over and over. It plays with your dog on the days you're slammed, and right alongside you on the days you're free. The point is simple: a dog that gets a real chase is a calmer, happier dog at home.
Will my dog really use it on their own?
Most dogs pick up the loop — chase, carry back, drop the ball in — within a few short sessions, and some get it the first afternoon. Your free copy of The Rove Playbook walks you through teaching the "drop it" step by step, so your dog can keep the game going solo while you get on with your day.
How long does it take a dog to learn it?
Usually a session or two. Start close, reward the drop-in, and most dogs are running the loop themselves within a day or two. Nervous, older or first-time fetchers might take a little longer — that's completely normal, and the Playbook covers it.
Does this replace playing with my dog?
Not at all — it covers the hours you can't. Use it hands-free during work calls and busy afternoons, or sit back and trigger the throws yourself. Your dog still gets you on the good days; Rovedog just makes sure the busy ones aren't spent bored by the door.
What size or breed of dog is it for?
It's built for dogs that never seem to run out of energy — from small breeds up to big, high-drive dogs like border collies, heelers and shepherds. If your dog loves to fetch, it's a good fit. Supervise the first few sessions so your dog learns the loop safely.

🎾 The launcher

How far does it throw?
It has adjustable distances — a short setting for indoor play and longer settings for the open yard. In most homes it throws farther and more consistently than you can by hand, so your dog gets a proper run instead of a half-hearted toss.
Can I use it indoors or in an apartment?
Yes. Set it to the shortest distance for hallways and living rooms — that keeps the ball in bounds in tighter spaces. Head outside and open it up to the longest setting for a full sprint across the yard.
What balls does it use?
Standard tennis balls — the kind you can find anywhere. That means a chewed, slobbered or lost ball never ends the game. Want backups ready from day one? Add the Extra Pro-Ball 3-Pack at checkout.
Is it rechargeable? How's the battery?
Yes — it's USB-C rechargeable and cordless in use, so there's no wall cable running across the room. Charge it up and it's ready for long play sessions.
Is it loud?
It runs quiet enough not to startle most dogs. A nervous dog might need a session or two to warm up to the sound, but there's no loud motor filling the room.
Is it safe to leave my dog with it?
It's designed with dog safety in mind: auto shut-off after 30 minutes idle, a non-toxic, pet-safe ABS shell, a shape made not to catch fur or paws, and an anti-slip base that stays planted. Like any play equipment, supervise the first few sessions while your dog learns how it works.
My dog is big, strong or a heavy chewer — will it hold up?
It's weighted and built to be used every day, not a flimsy fifty-dollar toy. And because it runs on replaceable standard tennis balls, one determined chewer never puts the whole thing out of action.
Can two dogs use it at once?
They can — expect some good-natured turn-taking. If you've got two high-energy dogs, plenty of owners end up wanting a second launcher so nobody has to wait for their turn.
What's included?
Your Rovedog automatic launcher and a free digital copy of The Rove Playbook training guide. It's USB-C rechargeable and works with standard tennis balls — add the Extra Pro-Ball 3-Pack at checkout if you'd like a set of backups on hand from day one.
